ABOUT THE AREA

A gateway to the Olympic Peninsula and world-renowned Olympic National Park, Port Townsend is situated where Puget Sound meets the Strait of Juan de Fuca and is simultaneously cradled by the rugged beauty of the Olympic Mountain Range. Widely considered and regularly declared one of the best small towns in America, Port Townsend is known for stunning examples of Victorian architecture, shops full of locally made and sourced goods, stunning views of the bay, and incredible dining.

Both Downtown and Uptown are mere steps away: 16 steps are all that stand between your suite and the downtown street below. Uptown is home to the Saturday Jefferson County Farmers Market, and the hotel is kitty-corner from the Haller Fountain with steps to Uptown. Jefferson County is also home to a bevy of festivals, so there is something to delight and entertain year round.

ABOUT YOUR HOST

I’m Alexis and I’m here to make your stay amazing! As your host, and the manager of The Washington Hotel, I love to surprise and delight with personalized service, helpful recommendations, and special touches.

I’ve spent half my life in Port Townsend. My husband and I moved here full time in 2017 with our three cats. We are avid travelers, both domestic and internationally.

Please feel free to ask me for recommendations! A few areas of expertise: dining, antique and second-hand shopping, beaches and trails, and scenic drives, among others
